1. Summary
This
product bulletin announces the availability of the Cisco® 9134 4G Fibre
Channel switch. The Cisco MDS 9134 is a 34-port multilayer fabric
switch with 32 ports capable of speeds of 4, 2, and 1Gbps and 2 ports capable
of speeds of 10Gbps. The 9134 switch offers outstanding value by providing
enterprise-class networking capabilities (VSANs and PortChannels), high
availability, comprehensive security, ease of use, and exceptional
flexibility and scalability at an affordable price in a compact 1-rack-unit
(1RU) form factor. 2.
What’s New? The 9134 comes with either 24 or 32 ports activated, can
be expanded from 24 active ports to 32 active ports by purchasing an
on-demand port activation license, and can be purchased stacked in pairs to
form a 64-port 4Gbps Fibre Channel switch. With such flexibility, the Cisco
9134 switch addresses the needs of both small and medium-sized businesses
(SMBs), branch offices, and departments in large enterprises and large data
center core-edge deployments. The Cisco MDS 9134 supports the Quick
Configuration Wizard that allows the switch to be deployed quickly and easily
in networks of any size. The Cisco 9134 4G FC switch includes enterprise-class
capabilities such as VSANs, PortChannels, redundant power supplies and
cooling fans, a nondisruptive software upgrade, comprehensive security
(authentication, authorization, and accounting [AAA], role-based access
control [RBAC]), troubleshooting, and diagnostics. Using the Enterprise
License package it also provides advanced traffic engineering features (QoS,
Extended Credits) and security features (switch-to-switch and host-to-switch
authentication, LUN zoning, read-only zones, port security and VSAN-based
access control). Powered by Cisco MDS 9000 SAN-OS software, it is compatible
with Cisco MDS 9500 series multilayer directors and Cisco MDS 9200 series
multilayer fabric switches, providing transparent, end-to-end service
delivery in core-edge deployments. 3.

following table summarizes the parts available for the Cisco 9134 switch. Partners

Base Configuration The base MDS 9134 32-port multilayer fabric switch will be sold with the following capabilities: ·
24 4Gbps active ports – SFPs NOT included ·
VSANs, PortChannels – Link aggregation ·
Cisco Fabric Manager ·
Accessory Kit – Includes Warrant Cards, rack mount kit, etc. Stacked
Configuration The 64-port bundle consisting of 2 stacked 9134 switches
will include 64 enabled ports, 2 enabled 10G ports, 1M CX4 cable, and 2 CX4
10Gb SFPS. NO 4Gbit SFPs will be included. Software Options An additional 8 ports may be activated on a Cisco MDS 9134
switch with 24 ports already active by selecting the additional on-demand
port activation license and additional SFPs. The two 10Gbit ports may be activated by selecting the
additional on-demand port activation license and additional 10G SFPs. The Cisco 9134 can also be ordered with the Enterprise
License, which enables advanced traffic engineering and security features. Enterprise

Server Package License The switch can also be ordered with Fabric Manager Server,
which extends the base Fabric Manager Server license with features such as
centralized fabric management, historical performance monitoring, and

which enables switch operation in mainframe storage networks, including IBM
